New York Giants: John Harbaugh
The New York Giants made a bold move by hiring John Harbaugh, and it could prove to be their best decision since Tom Coughlin took the reins in 2004. With a career win percentage of 61.4% and a Super Bowl title under his belt, Harbaugh is one of the most accomplished coaches in the NFL. While his recent playoff runs haven’t been as successful, his leadership and consistency make him a major upgrade for a Giants team that has struggled with coaching changes in recent years. Under Harbaugh, the team can expect significant growth, especially with a solid young core in place. With only three losing seasons in his 18 years as head coach of the Baltimore Ravens, Harbaugh brings stability and credibility to the Giants’ franchise. He was the best coach available, and the Giants wasted no time in securing him before other teams had the chance. For a team that has made many missteps recently, this is a home run hire.

Atlanta Falcons: Kevin Stefanski
Kevin Stefanski brings impressive credentials to Atlanta, including two NFL Coach of the Year awards. The Falcons have a talented roster and a struggling division, which presents an ideal opportunity for Stefanski to make an immediate impact. Known for his ability to handle tough quarterback situations—something he’s had experience with during his time in Cleveland—Stefanski is primed to elevate this Falcons team. Despite some lingering questions about the quarterback position, Stefanski has the tools to guide Atlanta to a competitive future. His success in Cleveland, where he overcame underachievement with the Browns, signals that he could do wonders for a Falcons team on the rise.

Miami Dolphins: Jeff Hafley
The Dolphins turned to Jeff Hafley, who made a name for himself as the defensive coordinator of the Green Bay Packers. Taking over in Miami isn’t an easy task, especially with the uncertainty surrounding quarterback Tua Tagovailoa’s future. However, Hafley’s defensive expertise should help build a foundation for the team’s next phase. His prior head coaching experience at Boston College and his connection with general manager Jon-Eric Sullivan—who previously worked with the Packers—adds a layer of familiarity. While Hafley may face some growing pains in his first years, his leadership and experience make him a solid option for the Dolphins’ rebuilding process.

Tennessee Titans: Robert Saleh
The Tennessee Titans made a savvy move in hiring Robert Saleh, a coach who brings a wealth of experience, including a successful stint as the defensive coordinator for the San Francisco 49ers. Although his tenure as head coach of the New York Jets was marked by a tough 20-36 record, the Jets’ struggles are well-known, and Saleh’s defensive success in San Francisco has rejuvenated his coaching career. The Titans have faced back-to-back 3-14 seasons, and Saleh’s expertise should immediately strengthen their defense. The key question is how he’ll handle the offensive side, especially with Cam Ward, the top pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, needing development.

Detroit Lions Offensive Coordinator: Drew Petzing
Drew Petzing takes on a challenging role as the Detroit Lions’ offensive coordinator. Although his time with the Arizona Cardinals didn’t produce stellar results, Petzing worked under difficult circumstances, including subpar quarterback play from Kyler Murray and Jacoby Brissett. Now, in Detroit, he inherits a talented offense, led by rising star Jared Goff. Petzing’s relationship with former Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson could help bridge the transition, but with so many experienced offensive minds available, his hiring feels underwhelming. However, with more resources at his disposal, Petzing has a solid chance to elevate Detroit’s offense.

The Los Angeles Chargers are poised to become one of the most potent offensive teams in the NFL under Mike McDaniel. With a reputation as one of the hottest offensive minds in football, McDaniel brings his innovative play-calling to a Chargers team brimming with talent. The opportunity to work with Justin Herbert, one of the league’s top quarterbacks, is an enticing prospect for McDaniel. If the Chargers can resolve their offensive line issues and stay healthy, McDaniel’s impact could propel them to a top-five offense in the league.
